Workshop on Promoting Innovation and Circular Economy in Viet Nam

Together with the Institute of Strategy, Policy on Natural Resources and Environment (ISPONRE), Hanns Seidel Foundation Vietnam successfully organised a workshop on “Promoting innovation toward actualising the circular economy in Vietnam”.

On 13 July, more than 100 national and international experts from ISPONRE, Vietnam Environmental Industry Association, universities and research institutes, think-tanks, relevant ministries, international organisations, and private companies and industrial parks attended the workshop in Hanoi and online via Zoom to discuss policy solutions for encouraging innovation for the sake of the transition into circular economy in Vietnam.

At the workshop, the experts presented policy and legal framework for promoting circular economy, emphasising the essential role of innovation and digital transformation in promoting circular economy, and proposing various solutions for facilitating innovation for the sake of accelerated transition to circular economy in many areas such as agriculture, environment industry, waste management in rural area, urban development and industrial park management in Vietnam. The workshop also offered private companies a platform to present their circular economy business models and explain their opportunities and challenges when applying these models.
