On 09th November, nearly 100 national and international experts from ISPONRE, universities and research institutes, think-tanks, relevant ministries, international organisations, and representatives from 13 coastal cities and provinces attended the workshop in Hanoi and online via Zoom to discuss the development of criteria for assessing sustainable blue economy in Vietnam.

At the workshop, the experts presented the legal framework for the sustainable blue economy transition and the Rapid Readiness Assessment (RRA) outcomes of the progress to the sustainable blue economy in Vietnam. The workshop also offered the participants a platform to discuss the proposed criteria and indicators for assessing the sustainability of key sectors of the blue economy in Vietnam, particularly fisheries and aquaculture production, tourism and leisure, and maritime transport. The workshop provided important technical inputs to the development of comprehensive and feasible criteria and indicators for a sustainable blue economy in Vietnam.
