Strengthening research capacity of governmental officials
Training Workshop on Application of Quantitative Methods in Labor Market

Together with the Institute of Labour Science and Social Affairs (ILSSA) under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam (MOLISA), the Hanns Seidel Foundation Vietnam (HSF) conducted a 2-day training workshop on the application of quantitative methods in labour market analysis for researchers from ILSSA and different thinktanks and research institutes in Hanoi.

From 30 to 31 October, nearly 50 researchers from ILSSA, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, MOLISA Department of Employment, National Center of Employment services, Hanoi Center of Employment Services, National Economics University, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Labour and Social Affairs joined the training workshop co-organized by HSF and ILSSA. During the 2-day training workshop, the participants were trained to analyse data from the GSO database using STATA for their future scientific research, especially for generating forecasting models for the labour market in Vietnam. This activity is part of the long-standing partnership between HSF and ILSSA aimed at strengthening research capacity of ILSSA and other State thinktanks’ researchers, which eventually contributes to their performance in providing policy recommendations and supporting policy solutions for social justice and social sustainability in Vietnam.
