Since 2020, HSF has been supporting the DSENRE/MPI in the development of the National Report 2020 of Vietnam aimed at reviewing the progress of SDG implementation in Vietnam in the period 2015 – 2020, assessing the ability to achieve SDGs by 2030, presenting challenges and difficulties in SDG implementation, and proposing solutions to promote the implementation of SDGs in Vietnam in the next five years. The report was successfully completed with intensive consultations with relevant ministries and agencies, socio-political organisations, national and international organisations, and representatives from academia and the private sector.

With supports from HSF Vietnam and UNDP, the DSENRE/MPI hosted a hybrid launching workshop on 21st October to introduce and disseminate the output of the report. In his opening remarks, Mr Michael Siegner – Resident Representative of HSF Vietnam, spoked highly of Vietnam’s tremendous efforts in closing the gaps and converging towards the 2030 targets. Taking into account socio-economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, he also emphasised the need to strengthen the collaboration among all national and international stakeholders in the post-pandemic recovery and the implementation of SDGs in the next 10 years.
