In June, 19 competing teams of CLP Vietnam 2022 attended 2 Boot Camps to improve their knowledge of various aspects of sustainable entrepreneurship such as market segmentation, customer value proposition, and climate impacts. After the Boot Camps, a series of one-on-one coaching sessions were provided by experienced national mentors in order to support the competing teams in sharpening their business ideas and prepare them for the National Final. 10 excellent teams were selected to the National Final based on their performance in the Boot Camps as well as during follow-up coaching sessions.

Mr Michael Siegner – Resident Representative of HSF Vietnam gave the award to 1st prize winner – team ASICO

This year, first prize of CLP Vietnam was awarded to team ASICO whose idea is to produce green cement from industrial waste such as fly ash, blast-furnace slag and steel slag. The idea has been developed over the past 10 years by the husband-and-wife team ASICO in a laboratory of Hanoi University of Science and Technology where they work as lecturers. ASICO’s green cement is not only environmentally friendly, but it can also be mixed with seawater to create strong concrete, making it an effective building material both in inland areas and on islands.

In addition, second prize went to team Carafoods from Nha Trang who farms seaweed to produce various eco-friendly and healthy products and tackle ocean pollution at the same time, while team GASIO from Thai Nguyen won third prize with the business model of offering a clean and cheap thermal solution for drying tea using Volumetric Continuous Biomass Gasification (VCBG) technology.
