Training Course for Sustainable Business
2022 ASEAN Sustainable Business Coach Training Course

Hosted and co-organised by the Ministry of SMEs and Start-ups of the Republic of Korea, the ASEM SMEs Eco-Innovation Center (ASEIC) and the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF), ASEAN Sustainable Business Coach Training is an online certificate course for business coaches and start-up accelerators from the ten ASEAN Member States (AMS), who are committed to sustainable business practices in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

HSF

After the success pilot Training of Trainers in 2021 as part of the ECOTHON, the ASEAN Sustainable Business Coach Training Course (hereafter called the “Training Course”) is newly launched in 2022 under the ROK-ASEAN Start-up Partnership. Hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Start-ups of the Republic of Korea and co-organised by ASEIC and HSF, the virtual Training Course targets business coaches, start-up accelerators and the related stakeholders in the AMS in need of skills development. The Training Course aims to strengthen professional capacities of the selected group of sustainable business coaches and support start-up ecosystem development in the AMS. The Training Course introduces and provides a various and tailor-made training modules including start-ups analysis, business coaching methods, amongst others.

Participants in the virtual Training Course from 22nd to 24th June 2022

HSF

From 22nd to 24th June 2022, more than 40 business coaches from various ASEAN countries attended the Training Course via Zoom. During the Training Course, the participants were provided with the latest sustainability concepts and its linkage to business models, and new methods in analysing and coaching early-stage start-ups. The modules include lectures and workshops focusing on various aspects of sustainable business such as understanding ESG and SCP, diagnosing and analysing SCP start-up, understanding lifecycle thinking and matrix, developing business solution and MVP prototyping, and building profit model and measuring sustainable impact. In addition, the participants also had chance to join team discussion and wrap up sessions.

Upon successful completion of the Training Course, the selected coaches with certificates will be introduced to the follow-up coaching opportunities, firstly in the ECOTHON series to be co-organised soon by ASEIC and HSF in several AMS.
