Workshop on Child Protection with Mr. Bernhard Egger

The workshop was held at the Royol Police Cadet Academy in Samphran Nakhon Pathom Thailand

On 26-27 April, 2023, the Hanns Seidel Foundation together with the Royal Police Cadet Academy hosted a Workshop for “Child Protection” with Mr. Bernhard Egger, Superintendent of the Bavarian Criminal Police. The workshop is aimed to enhance online child protection measures and techniques by learning from the Bavarian example. Participants include cadets from the Royal Police Cadet Academy, Department of Special Investigations, Thailand Internet Crimes Against Children – TICAC Task Force, and Civil Society Organizations such as the Internet Foundation for the Development of Thailand, Childline, Shero, and Save the Children.  We would like to thank every participant for giving input and coming together to tackle this important issue, law enforcement and the civil society.

Also, we would like to express our gratitude Police Lieutenant General Senit Samransamruatkit, Commissioner of Royal Police Cadet Academy for opening the workshop where cooperation is strengthened and friendships formed between the Royal Thai Police, Bavarian Police and Thailand’s Civil Society. Furthermore, our Director of the Institute for International Cooperation of HSF, Dr. Susanne Luther, stressed the importance of close cooperation between law enforcement and civil society in battling online child exploitation.
