In Cooperation with the Internet Foundation for the Development of Thailand, the Hanns Seidel Foundation organized a “Training for Youth Leaders on Online Crime Prevention” for youths in Central Thailand in Bangkok and the North of Thailand in Chiang Mai between the 25th- 27th October and 6th- 8th of November, 2022 respectively. In each of our camps, we had roughly 40 young participants representing the central and northern province’s Children and Youth Council of Thailand.

The training has pointed out the threats and risks of the new technology such as sexual abuse, violence, cyber-bullying, gambling, addiction to games, etc. as the many downsides of the internet. By training young leaders and making them aware of the listed downsides of the internet and how to combat them, a new network of youths combating online crime will form and awareness spread.
