Partners’ Conference 2019
HSF Philippine Office holds 2019 Year-end Partners’ Conference

Last November 27, the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) Philippine Office held its 2019 Year-end Partners’ Conference in Makati City for key representatives of its partner institutions in the country.

Since 2016, this annual year-end conference provides a good avenue to bring together the different project partners and/or critical stakeholders at the end of the year to be able to exchange experiences/insights and share their accomplishments in the course of implementing the projects during the year.  At the same time, it offers an opportunity to sustain the cooperation through closer interaction and networking, and especially for this year, to share future plans for the next project cycle (2020-2022).

Given the value of monitoring and evaluation in the project implementation cycle as well as the role of media in information dissemination, among the topics presented were the HSF-initiated “EvaSys” evaluation tool, and “Journalism in the Age of Social Media” in light of the challenges posed by social media. HSF would like to thank the Philippine Press Institute (PPI) for the interesting discourse.

Moreover, the participants received a wonderful surprise from the HSF headquarters in Munich, Germany and other project offices based in different continents of the world with a video clip from top officers and country representatives extending their warm congratulatory messages for another successful year of cooperation and advance Christmas greetings to all Philippine partners and colleagues.

HSF also took the occasion to pay tribute to the late Senator Aquilino “Nene” Pimentel, Jr., who recently passed away, for his leadership and excellent work in the ongoing joint project between HSF and the Pimentel Institute for Leadership and Governance (PILG) in the country.

Mr. Götz Heinicke, HSF Philippines’ Resident Representative, thanked the project partners for their commitment to the partnership with HSF, as well as for the enduring friendship and solidarity.  He expressed optimism that the project partnerships established through the years will be further strengthened and sustained.
