Workshop on Redesigning the ASEAN Plus Three Leadership Program on Sustainable Production and Consumption (SPC)

The ASEAN Working Group on Environmental Education (AWGEE) met in Dalat City/Vietnam, to discuss the strengthening of the ASEAN Leadership Program on Sustainable Production and Consumption (SPC).

Review Workshop

The ASEAN Secretariat, with support from the Hanns Seidel Foundation, held a workshop in Dalat City/Vietnam to review its ASEAN Plus Three Leadership Program on Sustainable Production and Consumption (SPC). After having conducted the programme successfully for ten years, the ASEAN Secretariat decided to review and evaluate the programme. In the course of the meeting it was decided to redesign the ASEAN+3 Leadership Program with a view towards enhancing the program to include more sectors and to strengthen its impacts in the region. In the future a focus shall be on regional development and sustainability factors in various sectors.

ASEAN Plus Three Leadership Programme

The ASEAN Plus Three Leadership program on Sustainable Production and Consumption is one of ASEAN’s flagship activities in this field, and it has been implemented annually since 2008. It contributes to the implementation of the ASEAN Environmental Education Action Plan (AEEAP). AEEAP is the mutually agreed upon plan of action for the regional-wide development and promotion of Environmental Education as a key mechanism towards the achievement of a “Clean and Green” ASEAN.
