Workshop on "Recommendations for the Draft Law on Water Resources (amended)"

Nearly 100 representatives from the National Assembly of Vietnam (NA) and relevant State agencies attended the workshop jointly hosted by the Committee of the Science, Technology and Environment, the Office of National Assembly (ONA), and Hanns Seidel Foundation Vietnam (HSF) to provide inputs to the draft Law on Water Resources (amended).

Chaired by Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Son – Standing Member of the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment of the NA, the workshop provided a platform for more than 100 NA Deputies, leading experts and representatives from relevant State agencies, enterprises, and association to discuss several aspects of the draft Law on Water Resources (amended). The workshop also provided multi-aspect expertise and legislative suggestions to assist NA Deputies and various bodies of the NA in the scrutiny process to ensure the consistency of the amended Law on Water Resources with other applicable laws and regulations.

As the amendment process of the Law on Water Resources significantly affects various social and economic spheres in Vietnam, HSF is proud to facilitate this constructive dialogue process before the draft law is discussed during the fifth plenary session of the 15th NA of Vietnam which is scheduled in June.
