Workshop on Conflict Resolution and Building Democratic Federal State

In collaboration with International Relations Department of Mandalay University, the Hanns Seidel Foundation organized a two-day workshop on Conflict Resolution and Building Democratic Federal State. The workshop took place at Mandalay University.

Dr. Tin Tun Aung, the Pro rector of Mandalay University delivered the opening remark in which he said to share the knowledge gained today should be widely spread among the colleagues and public.

Over 50 participants including the academic persons from Mandalay University, Yadanarbon University and University of Foreign Languages, the students reading Master of Political Studies, Diploma in Political Science and Diploma in International Relations joined the event.

HSF invited Dr. Soeren Keil from Canterbury Christ Church University, to lead the workshop. He made some presentations on conflict resolution which focuses on Myanmar. In the afternoon of the second day, a panel discussion on updating Myanmar peace process was organized. Za Ceu Lian, Kyaw Lin Oo and Aung Soe Minn, who are supporting different sectors in peace process, led the discussion while U Tin Soe acted as the moderator.
