In continuation of the online session on " Social Market Economy" the 6th webinar on “Social Market Economy” focusing on  “Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) was held. The Session was opened by Dr. Thanongsone Sibounheuan, Acting Director of Information and Training Center; and facilitated by Mr. Ousavanh Thiengthepvongsa, Acting Director of Socio-Economic Policy Research Institute, Lao Academy of Social and Economic Sciences (LASES).

The event started with the presentation on” Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMSs) in Germany” by Prof. Dr. Hansjoerg Herr from Berlin School of Economics and Law. Another presentation was given by Dr.Chanphasouk Vidavong from the Research Institute of Industry and Commerce on “the Role and importance of Macro-Enterprises in Lao PDR”. There were also comments and exchanges from representatives of the Bank of Lao PDR Ms. Malaikham Rasachak and Ms. Palima Sisaykeo from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce on problems and challenges in accessing funds for Micro-SMEs in Lao PDR.

More than 80 participants from LASES, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the National University of Laos, Bank of Lao PDR, and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce attended this event.
