Training Workshop on Research Methodology for Leading Officials from 17 Provinces and Vientiane Capital

The National Institute for Economic Research (NIER) and the Hanns Seidel Foundation Laos (HSF) co-organised a training workshop on “Research Methodology” for leading officials of the provincial departments on 22 - 26 March 2021. The workshop was held at the Grand Riverside Hotel, Vang Vieng, Vientiane Province and lasted for 5 days.

With financial support from the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HFS), the Center for Training and Information of the National Institute for Economic Research (NIER) organized the training workshop on “Research Methodology” from 22 to 26 March 2021 in Vang Vieng District, Vientiane Province. The training was officially opened by Mr Bounlath Keoasa, Director of the Center for Training and Information.

The participants included leading officials from the Department of Planning and Investment, the Department of Industry and Forestry, the Department of Agriculture and Forestry, the Cabinet of the Governor’s Office of 17 provinces and 1 Capital (Vientiane). The training aimed to strengthen the knowledge of the officials whose work involved research, to serve for setting the vision, to develop more effective and efficient strategic and socio-economic development plans and to provide a platform for mutual exchange of lessons.

The training went well with a satisfying result. The participants could develop a deeper understanding of research works and actively participated in the discussion and the exchange of ideas. They could learn more from other researchers and study special techniques used in conducting research.
