In March 2021, the 14th National Assembly of Vietnam opened the last session in its tenure. HSF

Since 2020, HSF has been cooperating with the ONA in publishing quarterly Parliamentary Information Briefs in order to provide National Assembly deputies with technical information, analyses and expert opinions on current legal, political as well as socio-economic topics, which eventually supports them in the law-making process. The publications are designed to meet the huge information demand of the National Assembly deputies.

Highlighting the growing demand for resources, analyses and information, the National Assembly Library reported more than 2,000 information requests from National Assembly deputies, deputy delegations and different bodies of the National Assembly from July 2016 to the end of 2020.

The first Information Brief of 2021 published in March reviews the 14th National Assembly’s performance of their legislative and supervisory functions, as well as their roles in socio-economic development programmes and handling foreign affairs in the last 5 years. Furthermore, this publication also introduces best practices related to the implementation of parliamentary mandates, for example by summarising some main points of the end-of-tenure report of Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China.
