As part of its Online Series, the Hanns Seidel Foundation traced the spread of Covid-19 in eight different Asian countries, among others in Thailand. In his related article “Thailand’s COVID-19 Struggle: Conditions, Consequences, Revelations”, Henning Glaser addresses the impact of Covid-19 in Thailand and highlights the social and political consequences of the virus.

The article provides valuable insights into Thailand's strategies and virus containment measures, while also addressing key socio-political conditions that significantly influence the downward trajectory of its public health response. Henning Glaser further highlights the profound impact of the development of Thailand’s pandemic experience on its social, political, as well as economic future and how these developments will negatively affect Thai society’s potential for resilience and the chances for recovery. Moreover, input is given for discussions on meeting future challenges whilst reducing vulnerability and increasing Thailand's resilience.
