Handover of Banners to the Hluttaw
Supporting MPs in their constituencies with parliamentary and political education

During the past parliamentary session the Hanns Seidel Foundation elaborated together with the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) a set of stand up banners that can be used to explain the parliamentary processes of the Hluttaw.

The banners cover three different topics:
- Functions of Representatives
- Legislative process
- Representatives of Union Level Hluttaw

The set of banners has been given out to all Members of Parliament as well as to the committees and parliamentary administrations.

Members of Parliament and staff of Hluttaw can use the banners to explain their duties, functions and responsibilities and to engage with their constituency, visitors and the general public.

If you have a chance to visit Hluttaw, you will also be able to see the vinyl next to the plenary chambers of the different houses as well as in front of the Hluttaw library and archive.

The development of the banners is part of the project “Supporting a people-oriented Parliament in Myanmar” which focuses on public outreach and external communication. The project is funded by the German Foreign Office and jointly conducted with the German Bundestag and Bundesrat.
