Public relation is used as the key tool for parliaments to reach out to people. In this way the Myanmar Hluttaws aim to achieve to be a more people oriented parliament. Political education can be used as a content to reach and inform the people about the parliament and its role and processes.

Hanns Seidel Foundation (Naypyitaw) and Myanmar Hluttaw collaborated to organize the Public Relations and Elaborating Political Education Material Workshop for the Hluttaw staff. Mr. Tibor Pirschel, Senior Officer, Division of Public Relations from German Bundestag and Mr. Peter Wilke, Head of Online Service, Division of Press and Communication from Bundesrat shared their expertise for the workshops. The workshops included 20 participants from Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, Pyithu Hluttaw and Amyotha Hluttaw. In the workshops the participants discussed the technical aspects of public relations and its implementation. This include the importance of target audience, using various public relation tools such as using Facebook, YouTube channels and other social media. The participants elaborated examples and strategies for the Myanmar Hluttaws that can be used in the future.

We thank the both experts from the German parliaments for sharing their technical expertise and experience and thank the participants for their engaging attendance, and we look forward to the improved future communication of the Myanmar Hluttaw.
