The seminar was chaired by Dr. Thanonsone Sibounheuang, Acting Director of Information and Training Center, and Dr. Bounleun Duangdeun, Director of Institute of Traditional Medicine.

It aimed to review the policies and regulations of the agencies involved in promoting the cultivation, commercial production, and use of Lao traditional medicinal plants

The policies and regulations are the basis for all entrepreneurs, especially groups and cooperatives, that enable them to understand more about traditional medicine and encourage them to form and stay in groups, so that they will increase their production of local products.

More than 100 participants from related Ministries attended the seminar, including the Ministry of Forestry and Agriculture, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Public Health, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Young Entrepreneurs Association, and most importantly representatives from production groups and cooperatives.
