As a follow up of the internship program of Indonesian police master students in Germany in 2016, the trained master students, supported by the Hanns Seidel Foundation and the Indonesian Police Science College (STIK-PTIK), have conducted a workshop on “Police Forces Integrated in Society” on 20-23 March 2017 at STIK-PTIK Lounge in Jakarta.

The Head of STIK-PTIK, Police Inspector General Remigus Sigid Tri Hardjanto, SH., MSi., in his opening remarks underlined that the internship program is important to improve the performance of the Indonesian police officers. STIK-PTIK serves as the center of excellent in the field of police education and service, including community service. It could provide greater benefits for the development and enhancement of the police as an institution.

Resident Representative of Hanns Seidel Foundation Indonesia, Dr. Daniel Heilmann, in his opening speech, elaborated on the Hanns Seidel Foundation’s cooperation with the Indonesian National Police including the internship program of police master students of STIK-PTIK and service-oriented policing at Police Academy (AKPOL).

The trained master students disseminated and shared information gained during the internship, on “The Role of Police in Society”, “Citizen-Oriented Policing/Youth Police Officers”, “Information Management”, and “Police Culture” to a total of 15 police officers from Jakarta Selatan Metro Police Station and other 9 police master students of STIK-PTIK. Chief of Schwabing 13 police station, Mr. Peter Breitner, and Head of Bavarian Criminal Investigation (BLKA), Mr. Bernhard Egger, elaborated and commented on the delivered topics and further facilitated working groups on the topic’s issues.

Additionally, to get views on the work of an Indonesian police station, the Bavarian police experts and the trained police master students visited a Jakarta Selatan Metro Police Station.
