The meeting with U Ohn Maung, Minister of Hotels and Tourism was attended by Achim Munz, Resident Representative of HSF and U Win Min from the Myanmar Centre for Responsible Business. The initial discussions focused on the general situation of tourism in Myanmar. The coming months are the low season in Myanmar and the Minister is hopeful that there is a steady visitor growth again in the 2019 visitor season. 

The second part of the meeting focused on the 3rd Conference on Communities and Tourism which is planned in Kalaw from 6th to 8th June. Preparations are ongoing, and the Minister indicated his support for the conference.

The last part of the meeting focused on the tourism law. Which is currently being discussed in Parliament. Both MCRB and HSF offered their advice on the tourism law.
