HSF supports the 50th ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting and its Related Ministerial Meetings

The HSF supported Delegates from MoFA attending the 50th ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting and its Related Ministerial Meetings in Manila, Philippines from 4th to 8th of August.

The HSF supported three Delegates from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) to attend the 50th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting that was conducted with a series of related Ministerial Meetings, such as

 •  Meeting of Commission on the South-East Asia Nuclear Weapon Free Zone Treaty (SEANWFZ)

 •  Plenary and Retreat Sessions of 50th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM)

 •  ASEAN Post Ministerial Conferences (PMC) involving the countries Canada, Republic of Korea,Australia, Russia, China, New Zealand, India, US, Japan and EU

 •  18th ASEAN Plus Three Foreign Ministers’ (APT) Meeting

 •  7th East Asia Summit (EAS) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting

 •  24th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF)

They all took place at the Philippines International Convention Centre in Manila from 4th to 8th August 2017. The Delegates attended the above-mentioned Ministerial Meetings as well as the following meetings that were held from the 2nd -3rd of August 2017:

 •  Drafting Committee of ASEAN Senior Official Meeting

 •  Meeting of the Executive Committee of the SEANWFZ Commission

 •  Senior Official Meetings for APT, EAS and ARF

The team has received an opportunity to observe and participate in the meetings in order to gain knowledge and experiences for a better support of ASEAN Cooperation for the realization of the ASEAN Community building.

The HSF supports the activities of the ASEAN Affairs Department of MoFA as part of the foundation’s objective to foster Myanmar’s embeddedness in the ASEAN and Int. Community.
