Expert Meeting on judicial review mechanisms

On October 22nd/23rd, the Hanns Seidel Foundation and PUSaKO held an expert meeting aimed at collecting input for an overview on the dynamics of the judicial review process in the Supreme Court.

Expert Meeting on judicial review

The concept of judicial review in the Supreme Court was at the focus of the expert meeting. It was attended by distinguished constitutional law experts from leading universities, state administrative law experts, advocates and researchers from non-governmental organizations, which focus on judicial review issues. The participants gave input on various issues regarding the legal review mechanisms particularly in the Supreme Court.

The situation regarding judicial review

The legal basis of in the judicial review process and the practical implications in concerte cases under review were presented and discussed. At the end of the meeting, the experts formulated several recommendations regarding areas of interest in which further research shall be carried out by PUSaKO. The results of the expert meeting will also be submitted to the government and the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. They will serve as recommendations regarding proposals for the more efficient and transparent structure of judicial review processes.
