The Aims of the Activity

The workshop aimed at improving writing and research skills of legal drafters of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in order to increase their contribution in national E-journal publications.

The Scientific Writing Workshop covered the areas of legal drafting, online research in E-Journals, general research guidelines and editing. As with previous activities, the scientific papers of the legal drafters will be published in various journals of the Ministry.

This workshop was carried out virtually because of the establishment of the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) by the government and the increasing spread of the coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19).

Increasing Capacity of the Legal Drafter

Legal drafters in the Ministry of Law and Human Rights are required to regularly publish scientific papers relating to current legal issues or related to laws and regulations that are being drafted. This workshop offered tools which can help legal drafters in improving their abilities. It also served as a forum where participants could exchange on common challenges they are facing during this process.  After participating in this activity, the attendants became more familiar with techniques in scientific writing that could be published in journals.

The workshop was very well received by 30 participants from the Directorate General of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, and Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. They were able to train their skills and use new techniques. Articles will be published in the upcoming editions of the ministry’s E-Journal (Jurnal Hukum).
