HSF cooperation with Indonesian National Police
Fourth Regional Police Training Conference on Transnational Crime

The Hanns Seidel Foundation and the National Police Education Training Institute (Lemdiklat) jointly conducted the Fourth Regional Police Training Conference on Transnational Crime.

Background

The conference is a well-established programme of HSF in the region. It aims at fostering regional cooperation and exchange among police training agencies of the ASEAN region. Participants from six ASEAN countries joined this conference in Tangerang, Indonesia. They presented an overview of their respective police training programs and had an opportunity to exchange information and share experiences regarding best practices on transnational crime issues such as cybercrime, illicit drug trafficking, and terrorism.

Six countries and German experts attended the Conference

Delegations from police training agencies in the Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Indonesia attended the conference. A representative of the Bavarian State Police (Landeskriminalamt) and the liaison officer of the Bundeskriminalamt to Indonesia and the Philippines attended the conference as well. They gave valuable input for the discussions from a German perspective. The conference was well-received by all partcipants and a follow-up conference will take place next year in the ASEAN region.
