Extension of the Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights

The Hanns Seidel Foundation and the Indonesian Ministry of Justice and Human Rights have signed an extension of their existing Memorandum of Understanding for three years (2017 to 2020).

The renewed MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Widodo Ekatjahjana, (Director-General for Legislation), and by Dr. Daniel Heilmann (Resident Representative of Hanns Seidel Foundation).

Both sides agreed to continue and deepen the good co-operation for the years to come. Director-General Prof. Widodo emphasized that the ministry is glad to continue the co-operation programme, especially in the fields of training and capacity-building.

The MoU covers all aspects of the co-operation between HSF and the ministry, as well as the work of HSF with other partners in Indonesia on the national and regional level. The work of HSF focuses on two main areas, including (1) support to democracy and the rule of law and (2) environment protection/environmental education. Furthermore, the MoU covers activities of HSF with other indonesian institutions, for example with the Indonesian National Police regarding community oriented policing and training for students of the police university STIK/PTIK; and with the Muslimat NU regarding voter education and women empowerment.
