From 2 December through 10 December 2021, the German-Southeast Asian Center of Excellence for Public Policy and Good Governance and the Asian Government Foundation will cooperate with the Hanns Seidel Foundation in organizing CPG’s 3rd online live, interactive Academy on Human Rights. The purpose of the Academy is to give participants a profound understanding and critical assessment of human rights laws, institutions, advocacy, and scholarship.

Together with internationally recognized scholars and practitioners different human rights aspects of certain major subject areas will be explored in both theoretical and practical dimensions. Thus, much emphasis is placed on the connection between academic theory and field practice.

Moreover, the Academy offers an intensive program including a discussion forum that gives participants the opportunity to share ideas, pose questions and explore the subject even further. It soon became clear that participants are motivated and enthusiastically contribute to discussions. Topics covered include

  • the History and Theory of Human Rights;
  • Institutions and Mechanisms of Human Rights Protection;
  • Business, Development & Environmental Rights and Justice;
  • Human Rights & Geopolitics;
  • Human Rights Lawyering; and
  • Human Rights in the Digital Age
