This Workshop aimed to receive comments on the 6th Draft Law on Public Administration in order to complete the consultation of the drafted law before submitting it to the Ministry of Justice, Government, and National Assembly Meeting in November 2022 for consideration and adoption.

Senior legal officers, Directors of Departments, officers of the line ministries, People Supreme Court of Lao PDR and Public Prosecutor’s Office of Vientiane Capital, Xayabouli, and Saysomboun Provinces attended this event. The workshop was chaired by H.E Mr. Nisith Keopanya, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

This Consultation Workshop is the last one of this kind before presenting the Draft to the Ministry of Justice, government, and National Assembly Meeting in November 2022, respectively. During the workshop, the Drafting Committee gave clear explanations to create a unified understanding of the drafted law. The workshop has been actively participated by distinguished guests, and nearly every one of the 191 articles of the law has been reviewed and received comments and feedback on the content of the drafted law from the attendants. These comments and feedback will be brought back to the Law Drafting Committee for discussion and consultation with senior legal advisors for consideration for a final improvement.
