During the finals of the 2nd Climate Launchpad Vietnam, which took place in Hanoi last weekend, 7 teams pitched their innovative ideas on Sustainable Consumption and Production methods as well as Circular Economy approaches and much more.

The main goal of the event is to conduct a dialogue and to give young start-ups the opportunity to present their ideas while receiving feedback and from industry leaders, finance experts and impact business veterans.

In Vietnam, the CLP has been organized for the 1st time in 2019 by the Center for Creativity and Sustainability Study and Consultancy (CCS). For the 2nd CLP Vietnam in 2020, CCS partnered with the Hanns Seidel Foundation to make this event happen.

The first round of the ClimateLaunchpad took place in July 2020. After passing the pre-selection, teams were trained in different aspects of entrepreneurship as well as in the management of crucial administrative challenges typically faced by impact businesses. After successfully completing the first online boot camp, 7 teams progressed to the final in Hanoi.

The winner of this year`s CLP finals was PLASTICPeople – a business that transforms low-value plastic waste into useful, affordable material for construction and furniture. Together with Team Bio Light and Team Edeec, who achieved the second and the third place, they will participate in the next round of this competition: the Southeast-Asia and Oceania Regional Final, which will be held online on 18 September.
