Capacity Development in terms of Administration of Local Administrative Organization’s Leader

The Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University and the Hanns Seidel Foundation jointly organized a workshop entitled “Capacity Development in terms of Administration of Local Administrative Organization’s Leader” during 22-23 March 2016 in Chaiyaphum province.

The workshop was welcomed by more than 95 participants from the leader, member of local administrative organization, village headman, village chief, assistant to village headman, doctors and students. It covered various topics relating to the capacity development of local administration by several academics as well as experts in different areas, for example Assoc. Prof. Pattana Reunchaidee, Vice Chancellor, Ramkhamhaeng University, Mr. Tawat Suwutikul, Former Chaiyaphum Governeur, Emeritus Prof. Dr. Ananta Rusmee and lecturers from Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University. Most of the participants who attended the workshop were officers working closely with the citizens. They need to increase their capacities in different fields in order to be capable to correctly respond to the problems and better serve the need of the citizens.

The wide range of topics was relevant to the current demand in the administration work of local officers, such as Education and Leader Development, Law related to the Local Administration under the caretaker of village headman, Moral, Virtue and Leadership Development, Efficiency Economy and its application in the Community and Natural Catastrophe Management. These topics will help strengthen the capacity of the local administrative officers to cope with the problems they are confronted with.

The participants were glad to attend the training workshop, and wish to have the opportunity to attend the next workshop as well. Some participants committed themselves to practice the gained knowledge and suggestions from the speakers in their work.
