Bavarian-Indonesian Police Alumni (BIPA) Meeting

The first BIPA meeting was held in Jakarta on 23-24 March 2017. The meeting established BIPA as an official organization that has an official logo and statute of BIPA

HSF

Facilitated and supported by the Hanns Seidel Foundation, the annual internship program of Indonesian police master students to Bavarian police offices has taken place in 2015 in Bavaria, Germany. Up to now, there are 6 and 9 alumni of the internship program from the 1st (2015) and 2nd (2016) batches respectively.

A result of the 2015 internship program, BIPA (Bavarian-Indonesian Polizei Alumi) was established on 22 April 2016 in Jakarta.

Accordingly the first BIPA meeting was held in Jakarta on 23-24 March 2017. The meeting established BIPA as an official organization that has an official logo and statute of BIPA and BIPA’s organization structure for 2017-2019 is as following:

Police Commissioner General Drs. Moechgiyarto, SH., MH., Head of Training and Education Agency (Lemdikpol) encouraged BIPA members on the role of police in society in his keynote speech

HSF

Besides the established WhatsApp group to communicate and share information, BIPA will produce an annual bulletin to update the work of BIPA members (Bavarian and Indonesian police officers) on practices of service-oriented policing in their respective police stations in 2018 and onward.

The meeting has promoted BIPA as an alumni organization. In this respect, Head of training and education agency (Lemdikpol), Police Commissioner General Drs. Moechgiyarto, SH., MH, contributed a keynote speech on “the Role of Police in Indonesian Society” to the BIPA meeting.

Furthermore, BIPA members benefitted from the experiences of Bavarian experts on “the Role of Social Media in Police Work”.
