First the group met on the 13th January with Htwe Htwe Hla the organizer of the Thandaung Gyi Mountain Run taking place on the 23rd February. The session was used to complete final preparations and to clarify open questions.

During the regular 15th TTDWG Meeting at the 100 Years Old House the group discussed topics like the handover from the old to the new committee, a joint bank account and the establishment of a tourist information and service center. It was emphasized that Thandaung Gyi has made significant progress as a tourist destination during the last years, not least due to the combined efforts of the community, Karen National Union (KNU), regional government and the Tatmadaw. A military representative present during the meeting stressed the support of the Tatmadaw for the upcoming Thandaung Gyi Montain Run.

The group members expressed the wish to receive training in packaging as well as a hygiene; the latter will be conducted for all relevant actors in the third week of March. They also discussed the possibility of organizing a daily scheduled bus from Taungoo to Thandaungyi in order to improve the accessibility of Thandaung Gyi for tourists. We would like to thank the members of the TTDWG for their active attendance and are looking forward to continuing our support.
