Official Hluttaw (Parliament) Information Brochure
H.E. U T Khun Myat and HSF-Representative Mr. Achim Munz at the hand-over ceremony of the Official Hluttaw Information Brochure
The information brochure is a key tool for public relations and political education for the Myanmar Hluttaws and of course also for the Members of Parliament. It provides core information on the Hluttaws and also describes and illustrates the roles and functions of the parliament. Furthermore, it also details the process of the Hluttaws such as passing bills through each of the chambers. The target group of the information brochure is the general public and it is hoped that it will be widely distributed among the people.
The information brochure is a key output of the joint project of the Hanns Seidel Foundation with the Myanmar Hluttaw. The aim of the project is to support the Hluttaw to be more people oriented through the means of public relations and communication.

The launch and handing over took place at Zabu Thiri Building of Hluttaw Compounds on 9th November 2017. Deputy Speaker as well as Chairman of the Joint Coordination Committee of the Hluttaws, H.E. U T Khun Myat, gave the opening speech for the ceremony and stressed importance of the brochure for an effective public relation of the Hluttaws. He also highlighted the need for further political education and transparency of Hluttaw. He also noted that more visitors came to Hluttaw after PR activities by HSF and that MPs are already requesting to distribute the information brochures to their constituencies.
Mr. Achim Munz, Resident Representative of HSF stressed during his speech, how the work together with JCC through the year contributed to the success of the cooperation and the success of the information brochure. In his remarks he thanked the JCC and the entire Hluttaw and also the key technical partners from Germany, namely the German Bundestag, Bundesrat and the financing of the Foreign Office of Germany.
The Official Hluttaw Information Brochure
After the successful handing over ceremony, future activities of HSF within the Hluttaw were presented and discussed by the Members of JCC.
The Hluttaw Brochure is available in English and Burmese with a circulation of over 100,000 copies supported by HSF through the funding of the German Foreign Office.
