Prosecutors and police investigators from the Province of Misamis Oriental and the Cities of Cagayan de Oro, El Salvador and Gingoog, along with local social welfare and environment and natural resource officers, discussed how communication in relation to handling of cases concerning the environment and those involving children in conflict with the law may be further improved.

As part of the process of institutionalizing the Community-based Dialogues (CBD) Program within the education curriculum of the Armed Forces of the Philippines from pre-entry to officer level, a 2.5 day “Seminar-workshop on the Review and Revision of the Human Rights Modules for the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ Professional Military Education” was conducted on 18-20 September 2019 in Manila.

As one of the focus areas of the “Community-based Dialogues” (CBD) Project, the culminating activity of the “Training of Trainers on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights” (ToT ESCR) was held for Region X (Northern Mindanao) on 09-13 September 2019 in Cagayan de Oro City.

The Province of Lanao del Norte and the City of Iligan hold a third dialogue for their prosecutors and police investigators to discuss in detail their respective roles and procedures in criminal investigation in relation to certain criminal cases. Also invited were the Chiefs of Police and representatives from the government local social welfare offices.

The Department of Justice-National Prosecution Service convened members of the Technical Working Group comprising prosecutors and support staff for a meeting to discuss the revised job descriptions of NPS job positions and the corresponding competencies, including those of the four additional positions that had recently been created. These were validated in a workshop held the following day.
