The fifth volume of the Country Report Vietnam focus on important gender issues in Vietnam. In a first step, it deals with the change in perspectives and role models that took place in Vietnam in the second half of the 20th century. Secondly, the aims of the state's gender equality policy will be presented along with the achievements which have been made. The third section deals with the problems that women in Vietnam face in the world of work and in society. A final article also discusses the role of the LBGT community in Vietnam today.
