Their reflections offer nuanced perspectives on political landscapes and democratic challenges shaping both nations’ futures.
The Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) Philippine alumni’s Fourth Quarter General Membership Meeting gathered former scholars to engage with the new Resident Representative and welcome a new alumna, fostering involvement and network building. Discussions emphasised the importance of alumni engagement in HSF’s project activities; Krones Filipinas, Inc.’s sustainable packaging solutions were featured.
Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) Philippines’ former scholars convened members of its alumni group based in the country and abroad in its first 2023 General Membership Meeting. The hybrid event featured an exchange with the Foundation’s Institut für Begabtenförderung Director and a message from the HSF’s new Resident Representative in the country. A total of fifteen online and on-site participants was present.
As 2022 winds down, Hannsiklub members gather for their Fourth Quarter General Membership Meeting to sum up activities held in the past months and strategise about plans for the coming year. The hybrid meeting had, in person, three Dela Paz Elementary School representatives and nineteen members; and, online, four and eight, respectively. It was held with support from the Hanns Seidel Foundation, which also hosted the meeting online.
Hannsiklub holds its regular general membership meeting participated in by its members both in person and online to discuss restructuring, activities scheduled for the second half of 2022 and projects for 2023. The hybrid meeting was held at The German Club with online hosting by the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) and was participated in by a total of nineteen members.
Linking up in the time of a pandemic, former Hanns Seidel Foundation scholars from the Philippines convene online for the Hannsiklub’s Fourth Quarter General Membership Meeting to keep abreast of the Foundation’s programs, gain an overview of the current state of education in the Philippines and stay informed about fellow members.
Touching base from within and outside the country, former Hanns Seidel Foundation scholars in the Philippines meet in a video conference to check on one another and find out how each has been coping since quarantine was enforced middle of March 2020. Held as the 2nd General Membership Meeting for 2020, the activity, which had nineteen participants, was the group’s first ever virtual get-together.
After more than two years since participating in the Nachkontaktkonferenz 2017 held in Bavaria, Germany, the former scholars welcomed the opportunity to meet again to maintain connections, rekindle old ties, and discuss and exchange experiences, ideas and new initiatives.
The Hanns Seidel Foundation provides study grants to young professionals who have expressed interest to pursue further training (up to 2 years) in Germany, mainly in fields related to the Foundation's project activities in the country.
With the goal of assisting foreign academics, especially from developing countries, in mind, the Hanns Seidel Foundation offers support to young and highly qualified foreign postgraduates with advanced degrees, good knowledge of the German language and socio-political commitment by extending support for scholarships. Last June to July 2016 saw the completion by three scholars of the Foundation of their respective training or doctorate research programs in Germany.
