The Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) hosted the virtual masterclass, “Global Perspectives on Circular Economy: Start-ups with Sustainable Business Models in Action,” bringing together circular start-ups and experts from across Asia, Europe, and beyond. The event underscored the vital role of start-ups in advancing circular economy initiatives and fostering innovation for a sustainable future. This webinar is part of the Virtual Masterclass series of the Think Global Sustainability Network under HSF’s Global Project on Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Change (GMACC).

Since 2020, the Hanns Seidel Foundation Vietnam (HSF) has been collaborating for with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) - Vietnam National University (VNU) and the Justus-Liebig University Gießen in publishing semi-annual reviews on various social and environmental issues and policies in Vietnam. The seventh volume of this publication series, titled 'Country Report – The Implementation of Governmental Policies in Vietnam' was finalised and officially introduced to the public in a launch on 27th November 2024.

Building on the success of the 2023 workshop, the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF), in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), organized a follow-up international workshop on legal frameworks for platform economy in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The UNFCCC COP 29, held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from November 11-22, 2024, brought together nations worldwide to address pressing climate change challenges. This significant conference highlighted global efforts to combat climate change and fostered collaborative approaches among nations.

The two-day event, organised by the Office of the National Assembly and Hanns Seidel Foundation, was held on 21-22 November 2024 in Da Nang City and brought together more than 60 participants from 11 provinces in Central Vietnam. This workshop was held in the framework of the cooperation between Hanns Seidel Foundation and the Office of the National Assembly (ONA) aimed at institutionally strengthening the capacity of the National Assembly and its deputies to fulfil their legislative mandate more effectively.

In preparation for the upcoming fifth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC5) in Busan, Korea, for a Global Plastics Treaty, Hanns Seidel Foundation in collaboration with the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment (ISPONRE), hosted a workshop focusing on circular economy solutions to tackle plastic pollution.

On the 14th of November the workshop "Global Norms, Local Realities: Gaps and Pitfalls in Thailand’s Business and Human Rights Landscape" at Grande Centre Point Surawong, Bangkok kicked off.

With help from the Hans Seidel Foundation and the Thai Internet Development Foundation two workshops were organized to raise awareness about sexual child abuse. The events took place from 11th to the 13th of November at the Pannarai Hotel in the Udonthani Province.

From the 7-9th November the Center of Excellence for Public Policy and Good Governance (CPG), in collaboration with the Hanns Seidel Foundation Thailand Office and the Asian Governance Foundation, hosted the conference "Quo Vadis Thailand: Steering Domestic Politics and Foreign Policy in Times of Uncertainty" at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand. This event was inter alia designed to honour H.E. Kasit Piromya, CPG Senior Research Fellow and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, on his upcoming 80th birthday.

This 1-day activity held on November 7, 2024 in Baguio City was organized by the Commission on Human Rights Cordillera Administrative Region (CHR-CAR) with the support of the Hanns Seidel Foundation/Germany (HSF). It was attended by 28 participants representing the core group from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police, Local Government (‘Barangay’/village officials) and other stakeholders, CHR-CAR led by its Regional Director, Atty. Romel Daguimol, and HSF led by its Resident Representative, Mr. Alexander Birle (online).
