The Fifth Virtual Youth Camp: Growing Democracy

On October 9 and 10, 2021, the School for Political and Social Science, University of Phayao, together with the Hanns Seidel Foundation Thailand, held the second session of the “Fifth Virtual Youth Camp: Growing Democracy” which aimed to broaden the participants' knowledge in various topics of democracy and citizenship.

The second session of the camp combined learning activities, workshops and group activities under 4 topics:

• “Before becoming a citizen: Citizen & Crisis” by Asst. Prof. Dararat Khampeng and Asst. Prof. Dr. Chatthip Chaichakan
• “Becoming a citizen” by Asst. Prof. Dararat Khampeng and Ms. Kanlayaporn Kanin
• “Drawing Democracy” by Dr. Sureeporn  Khumchompoo and moderated by Dr. Piyawadee Rohitarachoon
• “What’s Innovation for promoting democracy and citizenship?” by Asst. Prof. Dararat Khampeng

The participants had the opportunity to apply their knowledge already acquired during the first session and were able to both consolidate and expand it. Furthermore, interactive group activities on “Double Demo (Democracy x Demonstration) Project” in breakout rooms provided space for exchange and dialogue to deepen and develop both theoretical and practical skills.
