The workshop aimed to support law enforcement officers' psychological well-being, recognising that the demanding nature of police work, particularly during the investigation process, requires dedicated attention to mental health and stress management. Complex investigations, exposure to traumatic cases, and the high-pressure environment of law enforcement can take a significant toll on officers' mental health, making comprehensive psychological support essential for both individual well-being and operational effectiveness.
Twenty DSI officers participated in the programme, which was organised by the Child Sexual Exploitation Division, Bureau of Technology and Cyber Crime. The initiative emphasised the importance of fostering an organisational culture that prioritises "quality of life for personnel." This approach acknowledges that supporting officers' mental health is not just a duty of care, but a strategic investment in maintaining a resilient and effective law enforcement workforce.
This professional development programme, led by Helen Avadiar-Nimbalker, Chief Executive Officer of Rise Foundation Asia, and psychologists from Rise Foundation Asia (RFA), equipped officers with essential stress management techniques and psychological resilience tools.
This initiative represents a significant milestone in prioritizing the mental health and operational readiness of Thailand's law enforcement personnel. The Hanns Seidel Foundation remains committed to supporting those who serve and protect our communities with the tools they need for both professional effectiveness and personal well-being.
