Special thanks to Dr. Susanne Luther (Head of Institute for International Cooperation, HSF), Dr. Bettina Giesecke (Head of International Exchange Programs, German Bundestag), and Mr. Nattakrit Vongjarean and Ms. Sateejit Traipibunsuk (Deputy Secretaries-General of the Thai House of Representatives) for their valuable opening remarks.
Representing the German Bundestag, Ms. Anna-Maria Pawliczek and Mr. Benedict Heidgen (International Parliamentary Cooperation) provided an overview of Germany’s parliamentary system and administration. From the Thai House of Representatives, Ms. Patrapon Mullasartsatorn (Plan and Policy Analyst), Ms. Sasipin Sinsawat (Bureau of Parliamentary Proceedings), and Ms. Thanaaisinan Mahawattanangul (Reference Service Division Bureau) presented the structure and legislative processes of the Thai parliament.
The workshop also featured a session on Artificial Intelligence, led by Dr. Martin Kamprath (Research Section on Economic Affairs, Energy, and Environment, German Bundestag). The discussion highlighted AI governance and its potential impact on parliamentary work.
This cooperation marks an important step in strengthening international parliamentary relations and sharing best practices between Germany and Thailand with a focus on transparency, data management, legislative processes, cybersecurity, and AI applications in parliamentary work. The exchange of knowledge and experiences contributes to the development of both parliamentary systems and sets the foundation for future collaborative initiatives.
