HSF Vietnam and the Office of the National Assembly Discuss Future Cooperation

On 1 July 2026, Dr. Axel Neubert, Resident Representative of the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) Vietnam, met with Ms. Le Thu Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the Office of the National Assembly (ONA), at the National Assembly House in Hanoi to review the progress of the ongoing cooperation programme and discuss priorities for the remainder of 2026.

Building on their long-standing partnership since 2017, both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening parliamentary capacity, supporting policy dialogue and promoting institutional development. Discussions focused on the implementation of the current cooperation programme and opportunities to further deepen parliamentary cooperation between Vietnam and Germany.

Among the priorities agreed during the meeting were preparations for a specialised workshop on Artificial Intelligence in parliamentary work, as well as HSF's support for the publication of two parliamentary reference publications and a policy research report to support legislative activities by the end of 2026.

Ms. Le Thu Ha highlighted Germany as one of Vietnam's most important partners in Europe and expressed her appreciation for HSF's continued role in strengthening cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the German Bundestag. Both sides also discussed expanding exchanges between parliamentary administrations and promoting future joint activities.

The meeting underlined the shared commitment of HSF Vietnam and the Office of the National Assembly to further strengthening parliamentary cooperation, institutional capacity and the exchange of international experience in support of Vietnam's ongoing parliamentary modernisation.
