Workshop with The Ministry of Law and Human Rights regarding the Legal E-Journal

Background

The activity was carried out as an implementation measure regarding Article 256 of the Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights Number 29 of 2015, concerning the Organization and Work Procedure of the Ministry of Law. It stipulates that the Subdirectorate for Publication, Documentation, and Library has the task of monitoring, evaluation and reporting in the field of documentation, library management, publishing and dissemination of legislation. One measure, that the Hanns Seidel Foundation supports is the publication of the Indonesian Legislation E-Journal, which was started in 2018.

Workshop

The first day of the workshop began with the Keynote Speech by the Director General of the Ministry. The speakers then presented the legal research guidelines for scientific writing in the E-journal and explained about legal research and editing regarding scientific writing.

The aim of the workshop was to improve the skills of the legal drafters and the legal department of the local government in regard to writing and publishing in the national E-journal. The activity was attended by 30 participants, including the drafters of the legislative regulations of the Regional Office of West Sumatra, and members of the legal department of the local government of West Sumatra Province.
