Virtual Training Series on Circular Plastic Use
Workshop Series: Circular Plastic Use – Innovate & Change to Close the Loop

In June 2021, the Asia-Europe Environment (ENVforum) organised an online workshop series on circular plastic use for participants from ASEM countries. Inspired by Design Thinking methodology, the workshop series revolves around Plastic Waste and 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), looking into theory, practical examples, and empowering participants to design and implement solutions for environmental problems related to plastic waste.

The ENVforum is a platform that provides dialogue and exchange of views on Sustainable Development and environment issues in Asia and Europe, with main focus on Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP). Together with other international partners, Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) has been a long-standing partner in the ENVforum.

The ENVforum’s series in June 2021 consisted of three workshops taking place virtually via Whova conferencing platform. This international event aimed at enabling a highly interactive learning environment for key representatives of civil society and innovators from Asia and Europe to exchange knowledge and experiences in plastic waste management and circular economy. Furthermore, it was also a platform for the participants to work on localised, scalable, and cost-efficient solutions to address environmental challenges related to plastic waste, the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal 12 SCP, and the transition from a linear to a circular economy.

Ms Grazyna Pulawska, Acting Director of the Asia-Europe Foundation ASEF presented at the 1st workshop on the 1st of June.

To ensure the best collaborative experience for all participants, the participation in each workshop of the series is limited to 50 changemakers, individuals and professionals from ASEM countries. However, background papers and workshop materials are accessible to everyone at:
