Germany is known for its unique public laws of remarkable quality that have inspired those of many other countries all around the world. The Hanns Seidel Foundation, together with the German-Southeast Asian Center of Excellence for Public Policy and Good Governance (CPG), held the so-called “Online Academy”, an online short course providing intensive teaching on the topic of German Public Law and the Constitutional System by renowned scholars and practitioners.

To achieve high teaching standards and genuine engagement, only 20 participants were selected to join the Academy. The Academy provided access to online materials, videos, and content, as well as live classes, break-out sessions, and extra-curricular events.

Additionally, the Academy also addressed landmark decisions of the German constitutional court to expand the participants’ understanding of the German Constitution, Constitutional Court, Basic rights, Representative democracy, and local self-governance.
