Nowadays, children and youths use online media more than ever, whether for education, gaining knowledge, work, to communicate, to socialize, to participate in activities or for entertainment purposes. The increasing use of such media exposes children and youths to online threats. Knowing how to protect oneself from online threats and dangers is therefore important and necessary for children and youths in this era.

The Internet Foundation for the Development of Thailand and the Hanns Seidel Foundation Thailand have a common goal to protect and safeguard children and Youths from such online threats especially online sexual abuse, transnational crime. It is therefore necessary to build a level of protection for children to not be easily fall a victim, find a way out of certain situations, and report problems when found in a situation as a victim to cyber police, children and family shelters or centers that can provide help. Moreover, there is a need to train a group of youths to be leaders in order to affect children in their respective area. Therefore, the “Manual of Learning Activities for Children and Youths to Combat Cyber Crime” was drafted to increase knowledge and self-defense skills.

This guideline is another tool for children, youths, families, teachers, schools, and development organizations that can be implemented in their child protection work.
