The Hanns Seidel Foundation mourns the passing of Former Senator Aquilino “Nene” Q. Pimentel, Jr. who was both a partner and a friend. We are truly honoured to have had the chance to work with him.

Former Senator Aquilino "Nene" Q. Pimentel, Jr. was, to the Filipino people, a patriot, a statesman, a pillar of democracy, the “Father of Federalism.”  To the Hanns Seidel Foundation, he was a partner and an adviser.

The HSF Family joins the Filipino people, partners and friends in recalling Senator Pimentel’s unrelenting efforts in disseminating information about federalism and good governance.  We continue to appreciate the knowledge and wisdom tirelessly imparted by an outstanding man of principles.
