During their time in the Vietnamese Capital the Hanns Seidel Foundation supported the Auslandsakademie with the organisation of several presentations of German and European managers and officials living and working in Vietnam. Representatives from the European Delegation, the German Chamber of Commerce, Messer AG and others shared their assessments of the economic and political situation of the country with the fellowship students. A site-visit at the Van Laack textile factory allowed a deeper insight in working conditions and business processes.

An invitation from the German Embassy allowed the group to interview Mr. Konrad Lax, the head of the unit of Politics, Human Rights and Corruption Prevention on the Political and Human Rights Situation of the German diplomatic corps in Vietnam. During a visit at the Goethe Institute the fellowship students could get an insight of the various work of German representations in Vietnam.

The visit was culturally rounded up by a visit to the rural areas of Ninh Binh and Song Cong, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology and the Temple of Literature.
