On 24 – 26 March 2023, the School of Political and Social Sciences, University of Phayao, and the Hanns Seidel Foundation Thailand co-hosted the 8th Youth Camp under the theme of “Democratic Innovations and Election” in Chiang Mai. This project is designed to create learning through activities in which young people can understand and realize the importance of democracy and election, as well as to build citizenship skills along with a network between youth, Hanns Seidel Foundation, and the Program of Political Science, Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, University of Phayao.
Both the Hanns Seidel Foundation and the Program of Political Science, Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, University of Phayao recognize the importance of democratic development with the main target group being young adults. Therefore, we have jointly organized a youth leadership development project since 2015. Based on the post-project evaluation, the project has been successful in providing learning process and building skills in accordance with the project objectives and knowledge on local government.
Our 30 young participants came from all over Thailand
