Bilateral Security Exchange
Capacity Building for Civil Societies, Teachers and Officers in Preventing and Fighting Sexual Child Abuse

With help from the Hans Seidel Foundation and the Thai Internet Development Foundation two workshops were organized to raise awareness about sexual child abuse. The events took place from 11th to the 13th of November at the Pannarai Hotel in the Udonthani Province.

Public and law enforcement agencies were consulted to emphasize the responsible use of online media in order to protect children from sexual dangers. This was illustrated and clarified through discussions of past incidents. The training not only strengthened relationships between law enforcement officers and multidisciplinary teams, but it also enhanced their understanding of the challenges faced when working with children and families. The participants gained empathy for the various situations faced by children and their families and learned to adapt their approaches to find the best solutions.
