HSF hosts workshop with participants from different ethnic groups
Workshop on Federalism in Mandalay

Hanns Seidel Foundation Myanmar conducted a workshop on federalism in Mandalay. The event was jointly organized in collaboration with our partners: the Salween Institute for Public Policy and Centre for Development and Ethnic Studies.

The workshop brought together more than 30 members of the National Ethnic Youth Alliance - who come from different ethnic groups around the country.

The aim of the workshop was to strengthen the understanding on federalism and discuss potential options of the peace process and the current political reform process. The event included workshops, discussion, debates and concluded with a role play that simulated the current peace process and negotiations. The objective was to understand the different positions of the stakeholders that are currently involved in the process.

The workshop was led by Dr. Soeren Keil for the academic part, while the local experts took care of updating the Myanmar Peace and Reform Process.

We would like to thank the experts and the participants.
